Hi, I’m Rachael - Owner of Floraculture

I am a certified Garden consultant and coach that holds degrees in both Environmental Science and Biology from Wayne State University. On a personal level, I am also the mom of two young children who understands that vegetable gardening should be easy, as many of us don’t have much free time.

After several years of working as a professional Environmental Scientist, it became clear to me that the best way I can make an environmental impact is to teach my community how to grow their own food, and help establish square footage of natural garden space in backyards all over Metro Detroit.

After nearly a decade of my own garden trials and errors, I have created the Confident Harvester to streamline all of the key things I have learned, through wasted time and money, into one simple and cohesive plan that I wish I had when I got started.

The Setup Consultation is a **3-phase garden consultation** that will help you bridge the gap between your vegetable garden dreams and how it will become a reality..

I will hold your hand through all of the garden planning details so that you can skip the product overwhelm and get right to the good stuff - growing your garden!

How We Get You Growing

Phase 1: The Consultation.

A one-hour consultation is scheduled to talk ALLLL the garden dreams and figure out the basics - like where this garden will go!
Phase 2: The Design Sent Straight to Your Inbox

The proposed design is brought to life digitally for you to approve, along with a proposal for installation. (but it’s all based on your budget, no sticker shock here!)
Phase 3: Your Dream Garden Installed

With your approval of the proposal your installation is scheduled! We do all the heavy lifting, and you get all the veggies!

FAQs

When you book your consultation, we get the elephant in the room out of the way first thing! Whether your budget is $1,000, or $50,000 - we can find the best garden design to fit your goals and space.
It is also not uncommon to build gardens in phases! If you have big garden dreams but a smaller budget right now, we can plan phases to get you there.
The beauty of raised beds and container kitchen gardening is that you can truly put them anywhere that has enough sunlight. Some of my favorite gardens are along fences, garages, driveways - or even in rolling planters on a deck. I teach all of my clients how to intensively plant, so that you can grow A LOT in a tiny space.
It can, if you want it to! Please note Floraculture project minimum for garden installations is $2,000. I have also worked with many clients that use the garden setup information we talk through and the design to DIY the garden themselves.
Ongoing support is available - planting, maintenance, and garden coaching. Floraculture exists to close any gaps that stop you from enjoying a yard-to-table lifestyle.

I tried to educate myself with tools available online but I found a lot of contradicting advice - Rachael’s background in Biology and Environmental Science gave me confidence that she was pulling from her knowledge base as well as her experience to offer accessible, well reasoned solutions that took into account both my garden dreams and my environmental reality.
