MAYBE YOU HAVE A GREEN THUMB AFTER ALL

MY STORY OF FAILURE

It's  finally warm out and all of the gardening centers are putting out their seedlings. You rush to buy them, care for them all summer long, and are disappointed when only half survive. The ones that do are either exploding with fruit, running wild across your garden or are stripped of their leaves by pests. Fast forward to October, the frost arrives and your garden is done for the summer.

Wow, that was underwhelming.

Was that the garden you planned for? What went wrong? Maybe you are thinking to yourself "I'm just not that great at gardening"? Year after year this was the exact scenario I found myself in.

ONE OF MY MANY FAILED GARDENS

My first attempt at a kitchen garden. It was pretty, but it wasn’t functional because it was full of the wrong plants at the wrong time. Plants that were sold to me at the garden store, so I assumed that I was the problem

THE FIX

Then, I learned that the solution to much of my garden failures was the most obvious one - I was planting the wrong things in the wrong seasons. Maybe you too have a green thumb after all. Just because the garden center sells cilantro in June doesn't mean you should plant cilantro in the summer! or strawberries. or cabbage. I have failed at growing all of these in my summer garden before I learned the reason.

I WANT TO SHARE MY KNOWLEDGE OF SEASONAL PLANTING WITH YOU

It is through many failed garden attempts with countless hours and dollars wasted, that I am sharing the exact kitchen garden planning process that I use to garden year-round successfully now that I've learned how! Let's discover your gardening year.  I hope this opens your eyes to all of the wonderful produce that you can grow right at home in your own kitchen garden. The secret to an abundant garden is knowing your growing seasons, knowing what grows in those seasons, and then making a plan.
